A great battle between Raabe and Bernier

La version française ici Again, mother nature was wreaking havoc with many of the local race tracks. I decided to travel to Airborne Park Speedway where the sky was clear and a comfortable temperature of 25°C. I was not the only one. This track drew a good crowd and I saw one of the most exciting races I have seen this year in the Modified 358 class.

Amended

In the Modified 358 Egglefield Ford finale, Steve Bernier took an early lead over Greg Atkins in the 1NY car, as a good three-way battle between, last week's winner Roger Labreche, Mike Perrotte and Chris Raabe. On lap 14, Chris in car 01 managed to climb back to second position, chasing Steve Bernier when Jake Scarborough crashed into curve #1 which caused a yellow flag. On the restart, Chris Raabe passed Steve Bernier on curve #2, but he did a 360, which dropped Raabe to sixth place. In the next 10 laps, Chris will fight his way through the drivers, until he is back in second place again. On lap 25, once again, caution came out following a pileup involving several cars. On relaunch, Chris closes in on Bernier and ends up taking a slight lead. The two battled it out over the next two laps until Chris managed to take the lead, taking the win, with Steve Bernier in second, followed by Todd Stone. Photo credit: Don Simpson

Sportsman

In the Sportsman Fidelis Care Final, Connor Cleveland found his way back to winning ways. Connor rode a perfect race, starting from tenth position to first position and that in ten laps. There were a lot of yellow flags during the race, but Connor stayed ahead on every restart. Local rider Moses Page, in the 49x, rode a tough race, forcing his way to challenge Connor on the closing laps. However, he simply couldn't overtake the driver who is at the top of the current standings. Connor Cleveland gets the win, closely followed by Moses Page in second, with Joey Scarborough finishing third. Photo credit: Don Simpson Photo credit: Don Simpson
