Brockville Ontario Speedway to Host the Summer Sizzler – DTD Exclusive
By DON SIMPSON
Brockville Ontario Speedway is set to host its first 358 Modified event of the season on Saturday, August 1, with the 1000 Island Rv Summer Sizzler. This is the second official race of the season, even bigger and better as fans are allowed back in the stands, but with a limit of one hundred spectators.
The Brockville Ontario Speedway will have six classes on the schedule: 358 Modifies (35 laps); Sportsman Modifieds (25 laps); Sportsman Rookies (15 laps); Mini Stock Feature (25 laps), and the second race of the season for the Crate Sprint Car division (25 laps).
The August 1 event will bring out all the track regulars plus a host of invaders, all in the hope of taking home the $1,500 in prize money.
Unfortunately, like all tracks across Canada, racing had to be delayed due to COVID-19. Brockville Ontario Speedway is glad to have gotten things underway two weeks ago with the Splash into Racing event.
As in the first race, there will be a draw on Monday, July 27, to determine the 100 spots available for fans.
Paul and Cheryl Kirkland have worked tirelessly over the past weeks, and to finally get things underway for the Brockville Ontario Speedway was a big relief. As said in the past, Paul is still striving for their ultimate goal of hosting the Brockville Speedway’s Fall Nationals. This is their biggest annual event and we can only hope things will fall into place this Fall
Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m., with a race, start at 7:00 p.m, Racers set your calendar for Saturday, August 1, and head on over to the Brockville Ontario Speedway for a good night of summer racing.
