Brockville Ontario Speedway Set to Go Racing – DTD Exclusive
By DON SIMPSON
Brockville Ontario Speedway is set to host its first official race of the season, sponsored by Splash Well Drilling on Saturday, on July 18.
The Brockville Ontario Speedway will have six classes on the schedule: Sportsman Modified (30 laps), Sportsman Rookies (15 laps), Street Stock feature (25 laps), Mini Stock feature (25 laps), Vintage feature (25 laps) and the premiere of the Crate Sprint Car division (25 laps). This new class is a way to expand the racing venue at the 51-year-old track.
Unfortunately, like all tracks across Canada, racing had to be delayed due to COVID-19. Brockville Ontario Speedway is revved up to finally get things underway this coming Saturday.
All classes must pre-register by Thursday, July 16. Payment can be made through an e-transfer registration process at tigger@ripnet.com.
Paul and Cheryl Kirkland have worked tirelessly over the past weeks, including laying new clay on the track, in preparation to get this season of racing underway. They continue to lobby to allow fans to attend the racing event at reduced capacity to meet distancing guidelines. As of this release, there will be no spectators allowed but the Kirkland’s are optimistic this may change in the coming days. Stay tuned to the Brockville Ontario Speedway’s Facebook Page or website for further updates.
Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m., with racing starting at 7:00 p.m.
Racers set your calendar for Saturday, July 18, and head on over to the Brockville Ontario Speedway for a good night of summer racing.
